In July 2017 this FINAL document was released by the QLD Government and Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand. It outlines the minimum standards required for performing spirometry for the assessment and monitoring of coal mine workers lung function. The following are now a requirement of CMWHS & you will need to provide evidence of:
- completion of a full day face to face spirometry training course ( 6 hours + 4 hours online + follow up assessments)
- completion of ongoing refresher training (4 hours face to face + 4 hours online)
- compliance with equipment maintenance requirements (calibration, quality control, log books)
